Everyone has their recommendations for the services and tools they use -- here are mine which I think could make the world a slightly better place. I haven't fully migrated to the tools I recommend yet, but I'm doing this gradually at my own pace:
github- sourcehut or codebergchrome- librewolf (a better firefox)gmail- fastmail, protonmail, tuta, or just run your own mail servergoogle- duckduckgo (some folks recommend kagi, but you have to pay to unlock unlimited searches). Also check out wiby for fun web pages.twitter- best to put an end to doomscrolling on any platform. Try RSS feeds and discussion boards instead.windows- linux (obviously)
